James (Jim) Rigsby, 76, enter his special garden prepared just for him by God on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Saint Joseph Hospice Gulfport, MS with his daughter Veronica by his side.
James was a long-time native of the coast and the middle child of seven children; James was born in Newton, MS on March 6, 1941, to the late Clenard and Emma Rigsby.
James was known for his cowboy boots, hats and his passion for driving 18 wheelers. James was a commercial truck driver for 40 plus until his health began to deteriorate. He re-dedication his life back to Christ where he regularly attended services at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ken Braxton, until God called him to his perfect garden in heaven.
He was preceded in death by his father Clenard Rigsby; mother Emma Rigsby, brother Quilly Hinton Jr, and granddaughter Erin Denise Spires.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters Jennifer Rigsby of Austin, TX, Angela Rigsby-Brezeal of Gulfport, MS, Veronica (Robert) Culberson of Slidell, LA, one son Timothy Rigsby of Huntsville, AL; adopted daughters Marilyn (Eugene) Flowers of Gulfport, MS, Reetta (Marcus) Screen of Jacksonville, FL. and adopted son James Isaac; Nine grandchildren; Rashad and Rodrick Culberson, Erica and Evette Clark, Antonio and Alisha Rigsby, Kimbra, Kentrell, and Kandarrius Brezeal, seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Bobbie Maxwell, Doretha (Herbert) Crain of Gulfport, MS, Liz (Herbert) Butler ofPass Christian, MS, and Edna Mae (Sammy) Mack of Detroit, MI; one brother Clarence (Gloria) Rigsby of Gulfport, MS, long-time companion Beatrice Isaac and a special niece Aundrea Maxwell along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to acknowledge the outstanding care provided by the entire staff at Saint Joseph Hospice. I would also like to give a special thanks to Ms. Beatrice Isaac and Family.
