MORAVIA - Ruth I. Bilinski, 89, of Moravia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013. Born in Cortland, to John and Hazel Breeds on Aug. 1, 1924, she had been employed at Cortland Hospital before moving to Moravia. She volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program for 17 ½ years. She volunteered at local blood drives for the American Red Cross. She was employed as a housekeeper for several area businesses over the years. Ruth married Michael Bilinski, Sr. on May 17, 1952. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years; her parents, James and Hazel Breeds; her brother, James Breeds, and her sister, Edith Breeds. She is survived by her son, Michael (Jennifer) Bilinski, of Moravia; five grandchildren, David (Harpreet) Bilinski, of Alexandria, Va.; Kimberly (James) Paxton, of Suffolk, Va., Jonathon Bilinski, of Panama, N.Y., Randi Bilinski, of Panama, N.Y., and Benjamin Bilinski, of Moravia; three great-grandchildren, Taurean and Ilyanna Paxton, and Jaipal Bilinski, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Calling hours will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 at The Wade Funeral Home, Moravia with a Mass to follow at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Moravia. Contributions may be made in Ruth's name to The Powers Library or The American Red Cross.
