Mr Andrew Kirk
The death occurred on Tuesday of Andrew Kirk, a well known and respected citizen of Almonte. Previous to his illness he was employed in the Rosamond Woolen Company for many years. Born in Glasgow Scotland, 56 years ago, he came to Canada when a boy and following a short stay at Lanark, returned to Scotland, later coming to Almonte where he had since resided. His wife, the former Margaret Ann Armstrong of Ramsay, predeceased him in 1935. Surviving is one son Melville, Almonte. The funeral was held this Thursday afternoon from the residence of Mrs Sarah Vastano, to St John's Presbyterian Church, with interment in the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Rev A.J. Fowlie, pastor, officiated. The pallbearers were: Robert Mackie, Westboro; John Ballantyne, Jack Renshaw, Wesley McCann, Jack Kirk and Geo Lowry.
