September 3, 1958 – September 16, 2019 – (age 61)
On Monday September 16, 2019 in the rays of the rising sun, Ronald Jay Carver was called home to our Heavenly Father. Ronald, affectionately known as Ronn, passed away with his wife by his side. Ronn leaves behind many great memories with all who met him.
He was a jokester, a great mechanic, a thoughtful caring husband, a wise father, a master gamer, a patient teacher, a great golf partner, the father with the camera and the one that never missed a game or play.
Ronn worked on fighter jets such as F-4 Phantoms in the United States Air Force for four years. He graduated from Utah State University as an aerospace technician.
He held the position of High Priest in the Melchizedek Priesthood in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He married Leanne on June 5, 1981 and was sealed to her on July 12, 1982.
We could fill books with all the stories and memories that we have of Ronn. Like how it came about that he would sign his name Ron². Like the one time he and his friend got two demolition derby cars home and he had to rear end his friend to get him through an intersection. Or the one time for Mother's Day, he bought his wife a mother's ring with all the kids' names and birth stones in it, but taped it under a brand new toaster. Or when the kids would get stuck in games, he would do it for them, then go back to the beginning where they were stuck and then made them do it. These were just a few stories of the kind of man Ronn was. But unfortunately cancer, more specifically, acute myeloid Leukemia, claimed his life.
When most hear the word cancer, they lose all hope. But Ronn knew, win or lose, he was going to fight tooth and nail, it was the least he could do for his father, brothers and sisters who passed before him. Because they had no chance to fight against the Huntington's that claimed their lives. And so for the past two years he fought. He went through chemo, it went away, only to come back a few months later. He went through a bone marrow transplant which seemed to have worked. All signs of Leukemia were gone, but only a few weeks after coming back home did the Leukemia come back. And so, Ronn chose to live his life to the max for whatever time he had left. He watched movies with his daughters. Played video games with his grandchildren. Went golfing with his family. Took trips up to the mountains with his wife and he made certain that his family knew that he loved them.
On September 16, 2019 Ronn was met in heaven by his mother and father, two of his sisters, three of his brothers and his grandson. As well as many more family members. Ronn is survived by his wife Leanne, his daughters Randi (Bobby) Henrie, Nikki (Mal) Carver, Kelli (Matthew) Izsak and Jessi Carver as well as his sisters Susan (Glen) Morris and Dorothy (Micheal) Parker.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Logan 10th Ward Church Building, 792 North 500 East, Logan on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00pm.
