MOORESVILLE - Evelyn Foster, 92, formerly of High Point and Thomasville, and more recently of The Summit Place in Mooresville, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2009.
Born in Alamance County, NC on November 27, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Page Williams and Eula Nicholson Williams. She was a graduate of Graham High School and attended business school at High Point College. While there, she met and later married Richard Broadus (Dick) Culler who predeceased her in 1964. In 1976, she married Glenn Allen Foster who also predeceased her in 1999. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also pre-deceased by a sister, Adele Leonard, and brother C.I. Williams, and a grandson, Jeff Culler.
Mrs. Foster was a member of First Presbyterian Church in High Point for many years. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a devoted wife and mother, a wonderful cook and an accomplished seamstress in her day. She enjoyed gardening and especially liked to can and freeze the fruits of her labor.
Mrs. Foster is survived by a son, Dick Culler, Jr. and wife Jimmie of High Point, a son Larry Culler of Conover, and daughter, Nancy Gekas and husband Harry of Mooresville, NC. She was a proud grandmother of 7, great-grandmother of 16, and great-great grandmother of 2.
The family would like to thank the many care-givers who helped her in her final years, both at home, The Summit Place, and Lake Norman Regional Hospital in Mooresville.
A service to celebrate her long life will be held at First Presbyterian Church in High Point on Friday, May 22, at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Kenneth Broman-Fulks officiating. Mrs. Foster will be placed in the sanctuary of the church at 1:00 p.m. Friday. The family will receive friends in the church parlor 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be sent to the church or the charity of the donor's choice in her memory.
