Noah Emery, 88, was born in Coal Hill, Arkansas, on June 24, 1875. He died May 6, 1964, in a Fort Smith hospital. Services were May 7, 1964, in Pleasant Valley Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Joe Welton and W. Dorey officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Miller Funeral Home.

He was a retired peace officer and had lived most of his life in the Poteau-Wister area.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Qualls Emery, of the home; four brothers, Reverend J.T. and Marion of Story, Arkansas, W.N. of Madill, Oklahoma, and J.S. of Exeter, California.
