Geraldine Schackow, 76, of 413 Stout Drive died Saturday, March 15, 1997, at Hopedale Medical Complex in Hopedale.

Born Jan. 28, 1921, in Panama, Ill., to Thomas and Eura P. McReaken Dixon, she married Owen P. Rector on July 20, 1939, in Davenport, Iowa. He died Aug. 17, 1971. She married Robert Schackow on Oct. 4, 1986, in Mackinaw. He survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Sherry Duttweiler and Donna Boler, both of Peoria, and Carolyn Browning of Canton; three stepdaughters, Sherry Olson of Mackinaw, Marcia Ashley of Peoria and Rose Hoffman of Germantown Hills; four stepsons, Robert of Peoria, Alan of Marquette Heights, Daniel of Delavan and Mark of San Jose; and one sister, Betty Hurst of Canton.

She worked for J.C. Penney, retiring in 1982. She was a member of First Methodist Church in Canton, Cursillo & Christianity and Mackinaw Young & Heart Club.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
