US Navy Peacetime Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. he served in the United States Navy as a Seaman on board the "USS Kearsarge". He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery in an on-board incident on April 13, 1906. His citation reads “Breeman displayed heroism in the line of his profession while serving on board the "USS Kearsarge" at the time of the accidental ignition of powder charges in the forward 13-inch turret”. His Medal was issued on May 5, 1906. Chief Boatswain Isidor Nordstrom also was awarded the Medal of Honor for his bravery in the incident.
