He was the son of Goingsnake Kingfisher and Susie Drywater. He married Nancy Weaver in Rocky Ford in 1992. He was a lifelong Keetoowah Bank member and served in the U. S. Navy in World War II in the South Pacific on the USS Lexington. He was chief of Medicine Springs Ceremonial Grounds and served on the executive board of Native Americans for a Clean Environment for several years. He was also a hospice volunteer. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jackson; sisters Maggie, Anawake, Betty Sue, Lecia and Sally; his uncle and teacher Sam Drywater; and grandchildren Cheryl and Samuel. Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Sam Triplett officiating.
