Born Nov. 3, 1927, in Smithville, Tenn., to Joseph Matthew and Amanda Virginia "Virgie" Cannon Foster, he married Ellen Randall in 1948. She died in 1972. He married Vivian Chaney in 1977 in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Susan Foster of Peoria and Cathy Foster of Chicago; one brother, Les of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
One infant son and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
A Korean War Army veteran, he was a member of American Legion Post 16 and was a life member of Disabled American Veterans.
He owned and operated Foster Conoco Station for 41 years, retiring in 1997.
He was a member of Canton Moose Lodge 784.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
