Evan attended Taylor Elementary School from 1st to 6th grade snf graduated from Shelley High School. On September 30, 1948, he married Mayna Jane Whitmill and their marriage was solemnized on July 30, 2012 in the Rexburg LDS Temple. He worked as a Sheet Metal Worker at Thiokol, Bingham Mechanical, R. T. French Co. and Steel Products and served in the Army National Guard. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he served as a counselor and as President in the Sunday School Presidency. He was the first to volunteer when anything needed done or an assignment needed filled. He loved to fish and hunt and was a big football fan. He enjoyed doing yardwork and working in his and garden. He loved his grandchildren very much and his trusty dog. Survivors beside Mayna included: sons Warren (Melissa) and Jason (Kayla) & Dustin; sisters Nelda (Ron) Bietz, Bobby (Gordon) Martin, Narlene Miller, Nadine Jergens & Ruth Snow; and 15 grandchildren; procedied by brother Eldis "Burt" Garner. Funeral service held Monday July 19th at Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley with Military Rites by David B. Bleak Post #93 of Shelley.
