Gynna Kay (Golightly) Guice, 58, formerly of Odessa, Texas, was born on August 16, 1956 in Carlsbad, New Mexico, the daughter of Kenneth & Glendene Golightly. She graduated Cum Laude in 1974 from Permian High School in Odessa, then from North Texas State University in 1979 with a teaching and counseling degree. She taught 2nd grade for Lewisville I.S.D. She was committed to her students and was one of those teachers who always brought her work home with her. Gynna was dedicated. Dedication which often extended outside the classroom. She always helped each student to the best of her ability.
Gynna loved music and attended many concerts with her husband and friends. She always had something to say and knew no strangers.
On Wednesday, May 13, 2015, Gynna Guice passed away from glioblastoma. She fought hard over the last six months to keep her head high and stay strong for herself and her family. She was caring, hardworking and a loving mother & grandmother, and will be missed tremendously.
Her life will continue to be remembered and celebrated by her husband, Scott Marshall Guice; her son Marshall & daughter Chelsea; her grandchildren: Oliver, Ralfy & Maverick; her brother Ron Golightly; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
