Marilyn Elizabeth Lanning, 87, of Grove City, went home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2017. She was born March 28, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio to the late C. Lewis and Bernice A. VanHouten. She retired from Southwestern City Schools after more than 30 years of service at the J.C. Sommer location. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Milton; 8 brothers and 2 sisters. Marilyn is survived by her children Jim (Millie) Lanning, Tom (Charlene) Lanning, Becky (Ron) Coleman; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters Teddy Huffman, Lucy (Dan) Sheets, and Margie (Gary) West. Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123 where the funeral service will be held at 1pm. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery.
