Born in the Bronx, NY, she grew up and raised her family in Old Bridge, before moving to Sayreville thirty years ago.
A graduate of St. Marys High School in South Amboy, Bernadette's diligent nature enabled her to work her way up to Vice President of the Loan Department at PNC Bank Headquarters, in East Brunswick for 20 years.
Bernadette was a parishioner of St. Mary of Ostrabrama R.C. Church, South River, NJ.
Family was everything to Bernadette. Whether it was hosting Sunday dinners, camping, or watching her children's or grandchildren's sports matches, she always made time for making memories together.
A diehard Dallas Cowboys and New York Mets Fan, she was waiting for that next World Series victory! Bernadette was also a talented bowler.
Bernadette is reunited with her parents, Alfred and Anna (Desatnik) Forte; her sister, Blanche Costello; and her brother, Alfred Forte.
Surviving are her three children, Matthew Aikens and his wife, Dana, of Monroe Township, Jillian Quick and her husband, Ray, of East Brunswick, and Kristen Leon and her husband, Kenneth, of Sayreville; her six grandchildren, Paige and Jake Aikens, Kaitlyn and Brody Quick, and Chase and Camryn Leon; her sister, Annmary Marottoli and husband, Peter, of Manchester; her sister-in-law, Kathleen Forte, of Staten Island, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit at The Brunswick Memorial Home, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Ostrabrama R.C. Church, South River, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick, NJ.
