Amelia Verdugo Miranda was born on November 11, 1934 in Mesa, Arizona. She came from a large family and was one of 12 children. As a child, her family worked in the fields and on ranches, and as an adult she worked in the Rosarita Bean Factory in Mesa. In August 1962 she married her late husband Conrado Miranda Jr., and they had four children. Amelia then played a vital role in the raising of her grandchildren.

Amelia was notorious for opening up her home for lively celebrations that were filled
with incredible home cooked food. She was a fierce advocate for her family, and she loved to laugh.

On July 21, 2020, Amelia passed away. She was preceded in death by her parents José Maria Madrigal and Matilde Verdugo, and her husband Conrado. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her siblings Frank, Dolores, and Ruben, her children Kathy, Conrad, Carolina, and Markanthony, her 13 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral mass for Amelia will be held on Thursday July 22, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Her burial will follow at Mesa Cemetery at 11:00.
