He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during World War II.

Mr. Edwards was a graduate of Green Township High School and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, class of 1948, and a former resident of Rural Valley, Pa., and former owner of the Edwards Funeral Home of Rural Valley.

After moving to Delaware in the late 1960s, he worked at the Dover Air Force Base Port Mortuary, now the Charles C. Carson Center for Mortuary Affairs, as an inspector. After leaving the mortuary profession, he had sold real estate for a short time until concentrating his efforts in the operation CA In-Park Sales.

He was a sports enthusiast and not only enjoyed watching but playing. He was a member and past president with Kent County Church Softball League for 15 years and was honored with being elected to the Hall of Fame. He also was a former member of the Yatesboro Presbyterian Church, and the Rural Valley Lions Club and was a present member of the Whatcoat United Methodist Church of Camden and Masonic Union Lodge, Dover.
