The 72-year-old man who died at Eisenhower Medical Center following a two-car collision here Saturday afternoon has been identified as Leo Basil Mitchell of Oregon, said Maria Zamorez of the county Coroner's Office in Indio. The accident occurred about 2:50 p.m. on Date Palm Drive north of Avenue 35, said Mark Mallory of the California Highway Patrol's Indio office
Funeral services will be held Monday for Leo Mitchell of Palm Springs, who died Thursday at Desert Hospital. He was 84 A native of Italy, he had lived in Palm Springs for 11 years. He is survived by a brother, Michael Mitchell, also of Palm Springs. Services will begin at 9:45 a m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Palm Springs, with interment to follow in Desert Memorial Park.
