Sherman George Strouse was the eldest of five children born to David and Sidney Savanah (Brown) Strouse. For many years, he was the owner/operator of a restaurant in Decatur, IL. Sherman never married, or if he did we have not found a record of it. All census data shows him living single. The 1930 census lists him living in Los Angeles, CA with his sister, Alice living with him. His brother, Rodney Scott had a cafeteria in Los Angeles. He returned to the Decatur area shortly before his death.
