MATUSZYNSKI Irene Irene Matuszynski, 79, of Oregon, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2007, at St. Charles Mercy Medical Center. She was born August 21, 1928, to Leo H. and Irene (Nolthers) Jasper in Detroit, Michigan. Irene owned and operated Old Oaks Tavern with her husband and brother-in-law. She retired in 1990. She also was employed with Sears Roebuck and Company for 37 years, retiring in 1984. Irene was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and the Sears retirees. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Leonard J. Matuszynski. Irene is survived by her brother-in-law, Raymond Matuszynski; friends, Gerry and Dave Briden, Sandy and Bob Ruch and her 4 cats. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Hoeflinger - Bolander Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave., Oregon. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
