Crossed the Atlantic at age 23 to marry Nicola Anton Gelalich, a Merchant Marine turned house painter, in New York. They lived in tenements where the New York Met Opera House now stands. in 1914, they packed up their kids, and came to Los Angeles. Their 6th child was born in Feb 1918, and their first daughter died of the Influenza in November of the same year.
Pet lived with her three sons until Chris and Louis married sisters and moved out. Spiro stayed with his mother for the rest of her life.
She died in Los Angeles in January 1950 and was buried in Serbian Cemetery near her husband.
