Journalist, Politician, Diplomat, Writer. Graduated with a Law Degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), with postgraduate studies at Columbia University. Member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) since 1956. He was a contributor to the newspaper "Novedades" since 1948, a commentator for the XEW radio station since 1949 and for private television since 1952. In 1965 he was elected vice president of "El Heraldo de México" and in 1975 he was appointed editorial director of Televisa. He was ambassador to Canada from 1977 to 1983, concurrent in the Bahamas from 1979 to 1983 and in Switzerland from 1983 to 1987. He is the author of the book "México en 1968" published in 1968. He was also a member of the Mexican Academy of International Law, the Canadian Radio and Television Association, and the World Association of Journalists. He was awarded the National Journalism Prize in 1975 and was decorated by the governments of Lebanon, France, Great Britain and Israel.
