Alvin Jones was born in Canada and both his parents were born in VT. He married Sarah Sally Chessmore on 25 Nov 1851 in Franklin Co, NY. The 1880 census in Center Point Iowa, shows Alvin has just one eye. The family came to Center Point in 1869. Alvin and Sarah had 8 children, 5 sons and 3 daughters , of these children only 3 sons and 2 daughters survive him.
