Eleanor was born the daughter of Paul and Leona (Wolverton) Cross. Eleanor worked as a nurse for Hurley Hospital for 18 years and spent an additional 5 years as a nurse in Texas. She was the president of the Genealogy Society of Flint for many years. Eleanor planned class reunions for the class of '47 for Flint Central High School. Eleanor enjoy family and friend gatherings. Eleanor was preceded in death by her infant brother, Gregory Paul Cross; parents; husband, Benjamin Koepke; grandson, Joshua James Sergent.

Koepke, Eleanor Lane - age 91, of Grand Blanc, died August 26, 2021.

A memorial service will be held 12:30 PM Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc.

Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 11 AM Thursday, October 7, 2021 until time of service.

Eleanor was born April 28, 1930 in Flint, MI the daughter of Paul and Leona (Wolverton) Cross.

Eleanor worked as a registered nurse for Hurley Hospital for 18 years and spent an additional 5 years as a nurse in Texas.

She was the President of the Flint Genealogy Society for many years.

Eleanor helped plan numerous class reunions for Flint Central High School Class of '47.

Eleanor enjoyed being with her friends and family especially when water activities were involved. She enjoyed being a part of her grandchildren and great grand children's lives. She also enjoyed doing activities with her dear friend and cousin . Eleanor loved to play the piano, listen to southern gospel music, play games, do puzzles, read, watch the Detroit Tigers and PGA golf. She was very passionate about her baking, pickling beets and making homemade candy to everyone's delight and requests. She especially enjoyed history, researching her ancestry and was a proud American.

She is survived by three children; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
