PORT ST. LUCIE - James Slaven, 74, of Port St. Lucie died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at his home.
A native of Staten Island, N.Y., he lived in Port St. Lucie for 20 years.
Before retirement, he was a police officer with the New York Police Department for 28 years.
He was a founder of Calvary Assembly of God, Port St. Lucie.
He was a member of the Patrolman Benevolent Association of New York, the 1013 Club and the Retired Police Officer Association.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
He was predeceased by a son, James Slaven.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Slaven of Port St. Lucie; five sons, Paul and Anthony Colletti of Staten Island, Thomas Colletti of Coral Springs, Fla., John Slaven of Port St. Lucie and Robert Colletti of Tampa; a daughter, Marie Romano of Port St. Lucie; a brother, Robert Slaven of Staten Island; a sister, Dorothy DePuma of Bayville, N.J.; 24 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Aycock Funeral Home, Jensen Beach.
A service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at Calvary Assembly of God.
Burial will be in White City Cemetery.
