Television Personality. He will be remembered for his reporting of the weather segments during the "Today Show" broadcasts from 1978 to 2015, in addition to his birthday greetings for centenarians and super-centenarians. Scott was also known for his portrayal of 'Bozo the Clown' and the character 'Ronald McDonald.' Born Willard Herman Scott Jr., he began his association with broadcasting during his mid teenage years when he worked as a page at NBC. He was educated at American College where he acquired broadcasting experience at the school's radio station as he worked towards his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Religion. Following service with the United States Navy, he established himself as a Washington DC radio personality when he shared hosting duties along with Ed Walker on the "Joy Boys" program. In addition to the "Today Show," Scott found acting roles among them 'Peter Poole' in the TV series "Valerie" (1987 to 1989). Scott was the recipient of three Emmy Awards for his coverage of the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. In 1985 Scott was awarded the Private Sector Award for Public Service by President Ronald Reagan. During the course of his career, he authored numerous books of both fiction and non-fiction.
