Anita Coleman Aiken-White
Saturday, April 18th, 1925 - Saturday, September 4th, 2021
Anita Coleman Aiken- White born April 18, 1925 in Lafayette County, Mississippi passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 4th, 2021 at the age of 96 years old. Anita's life was a love story with many chapters for the family and friends she cherished most. Anita's love story with William "Bill" Aiken can be compared to the movie The Notebook, from beginning to end. This rare, beautiful love between the two of them sparked a longing love for their children before they even knew what would be gifted to them in the future. The amount of love between Anita and Bill would never compare to the love they both had for their miracles about to unfold. Anita received the miracle of motherhood born in her heart that fostered an unconditional love which made her an anchor in this stormy sea of life, carrying the weight of the world tucked beneath her wings. Anita loved her two most precious gifts sent to her from God, her children, Elizabeth (Bess) and Russell Aiken with all her heart. Anita and Bill Aiken were married for 50 golden years. Anita was a true Southern Bell who smiled pretty, remained elegant, taught to listen to your Mama, mind your manners, call everyone darlin, and when in doubt always overdress and accessorize. Anita was a peerless, beauty who made strong look invincible in her favorite color of blue and big southern hats. Anita had a life full of love, laughter, and memories with many friends and family. She retired from jobs she held dear to her heart, 20 years with General Motors and 12 years from Kelloggs. She loved animals, especially her beautiful cats and dogs. Long after Bill Aiken died, Anita remarried her high school sweetheart Bill White at 75 years old. She always wanted a large family of her own, now Anita's story of love lives on through the hearts of her two children, daughter-in law, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews, six grandchildren and their spouses, fourteen great grandchildren and two spouses, two great great grandchildren, and numerous friends she considered family. Her love in our hearts means we will never be far apart. She will always be our angel looking down from above. Anita had a love for her home as well, the great State of Mississippi. They say home is where the heart is, so I know that Heaven is with Jesus and full of honey suckles, June bugs, roses, magnolia trees, fireflies, and cotton that reminds her of the South that she loved so much.
