Robert "Andy" Andrews, 66, Danville, former Decatur Central High School Athletic Director, died Saturday, October 20 at his home. Born May 6, 1924 at Shelbyville, he was the son of William and Olive Andrews. Mr. Andrews, a Navy veteran of World War II, had been Athletic Director at Decatur Central High School from 1956 to 1967. He also had been a golf pro at Hendricks County Golf Course from 1958 to 1972. He owned Andy's Barn Burner from 1974 to 1977, from which he retired in 1977. Services were Wednesday, October 24 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville. Pastor Phil Gulley officiated, with burial in Danville South Cemetery. Surviving are sons, Ted and Brad Andrews; three grandchildren; former wife, Doris Wean Andrews; brothers, Harold, Kenneth, Leon and Glenn Andrews; sister, Betty Rickard. Memorial contributions may be made to Danville Ellis Park.
