Mr Henry Mutrie Passes Away
The friends of Mr Henry Mutrie of Masterton, will learn with regret of his death, which occurred this morning. The late Mr Mutrie who has for some time been residing on Mr John Montgomerie's farm in South Road, was not very well for the past few days and received attention from members of the household this morning. About 9 o'clock he went outside and shortly afterwards Mr Montgomery found him lying dead in an outbuilding. Dr Cowie was immediately summoned but upon arrival could only pronounce life to be extinct. The deceased had not been attended by a doctor prior to his death, but indications point to heart trouble being the cause of death.
The late Mr Mutrie, who was about 56 years of age, was a brother of Mr Alexander Mutrie, of this town. He was a single man and was held in high esteem by those who knew him. He was a hard-working man of jovial disposition and was highly respected by all who knew him.
It is somewhat of a coincidence that an elder brother of the deceased (Mr John Mutrie) died only a few weeks ago under similar circumstances.
