According to her birth certificate Amy was born at 13 Tookes Place Millwall, London to George Roberts and 'Amy' nee Robinson. There were no other children of this partnership and no marriage between George Roberts and Amy or Annie Robinson was recorded. Her mother was later married as Miss Annie Sidley Robinson (not Roberts) to Richard Rowe in 1869 in Marylebone, London and had one son, William Robinson Rowe the following year in Wrangle Lincolnshire. Amy was titled 'step daughter' to Richard Rowe in the 1871 and 1881 census'. Amy Roberts (known by her charges as 'Da') was children's nurse to all of William MORTON Philips and Caroline Ann KATE nee Stopford's six children. She remained in the Philips' employ later as 'Houskeeper'. Amy died at The Bank House, Lower Tean at the age of 98. Her body was cremated, and her ashes were buried with the William Morton Philips family in the Philips burial ground. She never married but took the cursory title of 'Mrs'.
Her mother Mrs Annie Rowe had died at Heybridge in 1922 aged 93 and was buried elsewhere in Checkley churchyard.
