My Uncle

Murphy, James "Jim" Ivan – Age 54 of West Northfield, passed away at home on September 13, 2021. Born in Halifax on November 4, 1966, he was the son of the late, Walter and Barbara Murphy. Jim is survived by his son, Mason (Kelsey) Murphy, West Northfield; sister, Joanne Bates, Truro; stepfather, Charles (Cheryl) Grantham and a niece and nephew.

Jim worked the first part of his career at ABCO Industries, as a Red Seal welder/fabricator for 25 years. He then moved to Michelin for roughly 10 years, working in multiple positions, the latest being a drum mechanic.

Jim was a great father. His son, Mason was the apple of his eye. Jim was also a great friend to many. He enjoyed being in the shop and riding his motorcycle. Jim was always working on a project, that you could see if you drove by the house, but he was always looking for the next one! On rainy days, you would find him in his chair, asleep, and some days, it may not even be raining. Jim will be missed by many.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, September 24 in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Donations in James' memory may be made to the Diabetes Association of Nova Scotia.
