Remembering Morris
Morris could be seen riding his 49cc scooter northeast of Carthage around to the various county cemeteries, especially Hackney and Fasken. He spent tireless hours documenting graves there for Find a Grave. He also made trips in his car to Park Cemetery & Oakhill Cemetery in Carthage and other area cemeteries in Jasper County.
Morris and his wife were also "snowbirds" every winter. They would travel (scooter and all) in their RV trailer to Hattiesburg, Mississippi to the Paul B. Johnson State Campground each year. They stayed from mid to late November until usually around March.
While there, Morris was able to continue and expand his Find a Grave listing contributions by visiting Dixie Baptist Church and Dixie United Methodist Church Cemeteries and doing listings and photographs there. He was very well liked and respected among his local Find a Grave community and he will certainly be missed by those that knew him.
