At age 13, Reuben THOMPSON, 1765-1855, fought at the Battle of Kettle Creek, on February 14, 1776. He is a proven NSDAR patriot (Ancestor #: A114494) with service being "patriot service" with Service Source: O'KELLEY & WARREN, GA REV BOUNTY LAND RECS, PP 32,41,51,73 and issued Certification as per act of 20 AUG 1781. His rank was not Lt. in the Georgia Militia as tombstone inscription states.


In 1832, Reuben THOMPSON was Trustee of Emanuel Academy.
