Professional Gambler. He was attending Stanford Business School, when he decided to play poker professionally after winning $100,000 at his first tournament in Las Vegas in 1974. He went on to become the card room manager at the Dunes Casino and one of the best poker players in the world. He won the Seven Card Stud Split event at the World Series of Poker 1978, the Seven Card Stud tournament 1982 and the World Series of Poker 2005. In 1991, he became the youngest player to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame. At the 2006 World Series of Poker, he won the first place purse of $1,716,000. His total live tournament winnings is in access of over $2.9 million and he wrote the seven-card stud section for "Doyle Brunson's Super System," the best selling poker book of all time. He died of pneumonia.
