Pauline Barrett Edge, 82, of Rockmart, passed away at Grace's House (assisted Living Facility) in Cave Spring on Sunday, June 13, 1999. Mrs. Edge was born Sept. 28, 1916 in Polk County. She was a retired Goodyear employee and a member of Rockmart Second Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Leo Edge; her parents, J. A. (Al) and Carrie Long Barrett; seven brothers, Russell, Ulis, Roy, Julie, J.T., Charlie and Rev. Hugh Barrett; and one sister, Mamie Lou Ellis. Surviving are: two sons, Michael Edge of Cedar Bluff, Ala. and David Edge of Birmingham, Ala.; three daughters, Judy Edge Campbell of Nashville, Tenn.; Linda Edge Bowman, Jr. of Aragon; Joan Edge Pickle of Myrtle Beach, S.C..; and brother, Everett Barrett of Cedartown. 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 15, at 3 p.m. from the Second Baptist Church, with Rev. Keith Alderman and Dr. Ray Hopkins officiating. Interment followed in Polk Memory Gardens. The following grandsons served as pallbearers: Dr. Mitch Campbell, Jeff Bowman, Brent Bowman, Emory Turner, Steve Kurowski, Mark Treadwell, Shane Hembree, Lee Edge and Brent Fowler. The ladies of the Second Baptist Church Sunday School Class served as honorary pallbearers. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
