Sophie Frederike of Mecklenburg, was a Princess and Duchess of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. She was the daughter of Louis of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1725-1778) and Charlotte Sophie, Duchess of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld (1731-1810). In 1774 (in Copenhagen) she married Hereditary Prince Frederick of Denmark and Norway, the son of King Frederick V of Denmark. She had four children, her first son later became King Christian VIII of Denmark and Norway (1786-1848).
