PORTER-On Tuesday, June 14, 1955, at 9:45 o'clock a.m., BEN PORTER, beloved husband of Mrs. Emma M. Porter; brother of Mrs. Etoyla Hankins, Miss Ardenia Porter and James Porter; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends; a native of Greenville, Miss., and a resident of this city for years.
Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of First Pilgrim, Gaillee, Galathia and Old Zion Baptist churches, officers and members of First Pilgrim Aid Benevolent Association, and Car Loaders and Unloaders of Freight Cars and Barges, Local No. 854, are respectfully invited to attend the wake this Sunday night, at the Blandin Funeral Home, 1116 St. Claude Street and funeral on Monday, June 20, 1955, at 12:30 o'clock p.m. Religious services at Zion Hill Baptist church, Rev. A. Griffin officiating, assisted by Rev. E. J. Thompson.
Interment in Lincoln Memorial Park.
