Catherine Zentkovich Galpin, age 85, of Bridgeport, died on Thursday, May 17, 2001, at Cambridge Manor, Fairfield. Born in Bridgeport to the late John and Martha Hrasch Zentkovich, she was a lifelong city resident.
Mrs. Galpin was the widow of Arthur F. Galpin Sr., and was a member of St. John's Church Seniors and the Mothers and Daughters Club. She was also a member of the Orthodox Women's Council.
Survivors include her beloved children, Arthur F. Galpin Jr. and his wife Audrey, of Upper Black Eddy, Pa., Louis Galpin and his wife, Gail, of the Huntington section of Shelton, John Galpin and his wife, Karen, of Stratford, and Edward Galpin and his wife, Kris of Fairfield; two daughters, Catherine Baldovin of Milford, and Martha Jean Graham of Fairfield; 17 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; a sister, Mary Zentkovich of Warren, Ohio, a brother, George Zentkovich of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Martha Hrasch and Ann Huckabee; and brother, Michael Zentkovich.
Funeral serviced will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2001, at 9 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church, Bridgeport. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday (today) from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. Parastas will be at 7 p.m.
