Mr. Main died early Friday in St. Francis hospital, Litchfield where he had been a patient since the storm which wrecked Bunker Hill, Fosterburg, and many houses in Gillespie. He was crushed under parts of a falling building.
Mr. Main was born in Scotland but had resided in this country most of his life.
He was employed for many years at mines of the Superior Coal Co. in Gillespie vicinity.
He was a brother of Mrs. Harry Marshall, of 700 Fayette Ave., this city.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; one son, Harold, of Chicago; two daughters, Mrs. May Blakely, of Chicago; and Mrs. Jean Smith, of Gillespie; five brothers, Robert, of Chicago; Alex, of Gillespie; Fred and John, of Long Beach, Calif.; and William, of Scotland; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Skinner, of Long Beach; Mrs. Jean Ellis and Mrs. Christina Wilson, of Scotland; and Mrs. Violet Marshall, city.
Burial was in Gillespie cemetery.
