Angela Portocarrero, Mamita, 85, was born in El Sauce, Nicaragua on March 15, 1936 and she moved to Big Spring in 1990.
Mamita went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, October 15, 2021.
She was the daughter of Aurora Mendoza and Amado Osorio of El Sauce, Nicaragua.
She lived in Big Spring for 30 years with her loving family.
She was a firm believer in Jesus, a strong woman of faith, a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a giant in the faith and woman of honor, always led by example. Mamita was full of virtue, valor, and love – a true warrior in Christ. Strength wand dignity were her clothing.
Everyone who knew Mamita loved her and she loved everyone.
She was kind and generous, one of a kind, she was everyone's Mamita.
Mamita is survived by her children: Margarita Pena of Big Spring, Felix Portocarrero of Okeechobee, Florida, Jose Portocarrero of Miami, Florida, Nicolas Portocarrero of Big Spring and Karla Lugo of Big Spring; 31 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Mamita is preceded in death by her husband: Carlos Portocarrero; children: Esperanza Portocarrero, Carlos Agusto Portocarrero and Julia Portocarreo. Mamita is also preceded in death by her grandchildren: Luis Pena Jr, Zuyen Tapia, and her great great grandchild: Love Lee Valverde.
Mamita is dearly missed and loved, but we know she is resting in the arms of her savior.
Visitation will be 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM Monday with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM in the Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial at Trinity Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Felix Portocarrero, Jose Portocarrero, Luis Lugo, Christian Lugo, Austin Mize, Eliel Portocarrero, Nicolas Portocarrero and Carlos Valverde.
