The burial of Otto Pletcher, who died Thursday from a complication of diseases following the flu was at Glenwood cemetery Friday. Flu was fatal with the father, mother and little son in this family within a week leaving only the little daughter as a living representative. This is indeed a sad case. The sympathy of the community is expressed for the parents of Mr. and Mrs. Pletcher, who are so greatly bereaved.

Otto Pletcher was born in Wright County May 15, 1893, and died at Goldfield, Iowa on January 29, 1920 from a complication of Spanish Influenza and Scarlet Fever.

He was united in marriage to Anna Rasmussen on March 12, 1913. To this union were born Ruth, who survives him and Roy who preceded his father in death by only a few days.

Mr. Pletcher was born and raised in Wright County and was liked and respected by all who knew him. He was an honest, industrious, progressive farmer, a type of sturdy manhood that has made this country great. It seems to us in our finite wisdom passing strange that such a desirable and worthy people as the Otto Pletcher's family should be afflicted as they were and should be called from among us when their usefulness was not passed and seemingly many years of life and happiness should be before them, but we must submit to the inevitable.

The funeral was held from the house on Friday afternoon. Rev. J. S. Nicholson conducting the services. The body was laid to rest beside his beloved ones in Glenwood Cemetery.
