Marvin Carl Kiesz was born on February 5, 1936 on a farm near Long Lake, SD to Carl and Rose (Rall) Kiesz. This is the area where he grew up and attended school. In 1959, he was drafted into the US Army. He returned to the ranch where he raised cattle for several years. On December 6, 1968 he married Carole Lee at Aberdeen, SD and they made their home in Aberdeen.

Marvin was the manager of Aberdeen Monument Company for thirty-three years when he retired. He really loved working with families and had a passion for designing monuments that would help families with their grief.

Marvin was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He enjoyed visiting with friends and could carry on a conversation with anyone. He loved animals, especially horses. He will be greatly missed by his wife, children and especially his grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared Marvin's life are his wife, Carole Kiesz, Aberdeen, children, Erik Kiesz, Fargo, ND, Aaron (Alison) Kiesz, and Justin Kiesz, both of Aberdeen, grandchildren, Wyatt, Cody, Maria and Josephine Kiesz.

Preceding Marvin in death are his parents, Carl and Rose Kiesz, brother, Julius Kiesz and sisters, Pat Sherburn and Ida Bender.
