Gilbert mysteriously entered into our lives & brought joy to all who knew him....only to have him exit our lives mysteriously into thin air. His disappearance brought so much grief to all of us.

Gracie ~ Gilbert's feral girl friend

***GILBERT & I THANK EVERYONE OF YOU WHO VISITS & MADE BEAUTIFUL TOKENS OF HIS IMAGE. IT'S OVERWHELMING TO SEE HOW MUCH THIS CAT WAS LOVED BY ALL. GILBERT'S FINAL CHAPTER OF HIS LIFE MAY NEVER BE KNOWN BUT THE LAST 11.5 YRS OF HIS LIFE WAS MADE EASIER BY KIND PEOPLE WHO AIDED HIM.***

Gilbert, my precious boy feral cat, went missing Thursday, October 28, 2021. Sorry I couldn't protect you my precious friend & know I failed you completely. Knowing you went to a very dark place makes me feel so guilty. Not home when you were taken which makes me feel even worse. You survived unbelievable tough challengers throughout your 11.5 years with us & to have it end this way. Even worse, we'll never know what happened to you so there's no closure.

I can only guess what year Gilbert was born. Born outside to a feral mom, he came up to our outside front steps where my neighbor Sandy (d. 2015) & I were sitting. That was sometime in May 2010. We fed the cat & he stuck around for the next 11.5 years. It took Gilbert a very long time to trust a human being. (only trusted me all those years) I asked my grandson, Peter who was 4.5 years old then, if he can come up with a boy name for our new friend. He came up with the name Gilbert. I estimated Gilbert was 2 to 3 years old in 2010. He was a very large light tan tabby tom cat weighing 15 pounds.

Gilbert was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Heartfelt Thank You to Rosie/Moochie for sponsoring Gilbert's memorial
