Laurentia Gaillard nee Laurentia Beroo of Forestiere, St. Lucia was born to Daniel and Helen on July 19, 1971. Rita received her education at Forestiere Elementary and SDA Academy. After completing high school she immediately gained employment at St. Lucia Linen. She remained with the company for 16 years. Most recently she was employed with Joy Dental Center. In 2004, she gave birth to her precious son Kayvan and also married Peter. She enjoyed being a mother and wife, always being exceptional in her duties. She moved to St. Croix in 2010 and then to Baytown, Texas 3 years ago where she lived happily surrounded by family and friends. Rita or Sista as she was fondly called is left behind 3 sisters Wendy, Myrtle, Shanna, 2 brothers Cyprian and Christopher, sisters-in-law: Margaretta and Shannase, brothers-in-law: Arthur and Rupert. 3 nieces: Krystal, Anya, Kara, 4 nephews: Gilly, Adriel, Uhzian and Nevian, Aunt Mary, Lucia, Erin, aunt in laws: Elizabeth, Joyce, Verdan, Liza. Uncles: Flavien, Meinrad, Francis, Theodore, Fabian, cousins including Clement, Emery, Ellis, Jesse, Brian, Shirley, Marcia, Cleta, Lyn and their families. Rita also had many friends Marietta, Gerard, Faye, Remy, Al, Kervin, Troy and many others. Sister Laurentia accepted Christ as her savior at Forestiere SDA Church in 1983. She served as a faithful member who truly loved the Lord. Sista was involved in doing God's work as a church clerk, secretary, and Sabbath school superintendent and choir member. She was a woman of faith, God fearing, one who loved God above everything else. She was definitely a warrior, fighter and a survivor of breast and lung cancer. Rita enjoyed helping others, spending time laughing with the family, babysitting her nieces and nephews. She loved her daily devotions, fellowship at the Fondren and Baytown SDA church, and many times did three-way telephone conversations with her sisters Shanna and Wendy. Sista enjoyed preparing Sabbath lunches for her extended family and in her leisure she enjoyed travelling to St. Lucia to see her sister and friends, a shopping spree and "liming". Her strength and courage will be remembered by her family and all who knew her. Serving as pallbearers will be Peter Gaillard, Christopher Beroo, Cyprian Biroo, Rupert Etienne, Emery Jagrup, and Gilly Jawahir. The visitation will be held at Baytown United SDA Church from 10:00 to 11:00 am, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be followed at the Earthman Memory Gardens.
