John Baskitis, age 83 of Springville, TN, died Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at AHC of Paris.
He retired after a long career with the National Steelmill where he worked as an electrician and a fireman. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Paris, where he was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. John was an associate member of the American Legion Post 89 in Springville/Paris Landing. He loved playing the guitar and singing with his family, boating, especially on Lake Michigan, and fishing. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle throughout the country and rode through 38 states with his wife. John very much loved being a husband and a friend.
ohn was born March 25, 1938, in Elizabeth, PA, to the late Anthony Baskitis and the late Veronica Baskitis.
He was married April 27, 1963, to Helen Schlosser Baskitis, who survives, of Springville, TN.
Along with his wife, hi is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Ignatius, Catherine Baskitis, Pearl Kustron, Dorothy Kvocka, and Janet Adams.Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 10, 2021, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the rosary beginning at 6:00 pm. The funeral mass will be Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1210 East Wood Street, Paris, TN 38242, with Rev. Martin Orjianioke officiating.Serving as pallbearers will be Knights of Columbus Honor Guard and Jack Bragg.

Cremation will follow the funeral mass.
