Daniel Sickels, 53, of 940 1/2 Davis Street, died at 12:57 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at the Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Private family services will be held at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. Burial of the cremated remains will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery, Clinton, Iowa.

Mr. Sickels was a truck driver for 17 years, working for Burlington Northern Trucking and lastly for Celedon Trucking.

He was born on Aug. 1, 1954, in Dubuque, son of Donald and Phyllis (Ward) Sickels. He married Kathleen McClintock on April 17, 1989, in Rogers, Ark.; she preceded him in death on Feb. 22, 2005.

Surviving are two children, Rita (Daniel) Lahare, of Trever, Wis., and Jason (Tressa) Sickels, of Round Lake, Ill.; two granddaughters, Ellie and Bethany; his mother, Phyllis Sickels; a sister, Rose (Dennis Sharkey) Culbertson; a niece, Lisa (Holly) Culbertson; and a nephew, Michael (Pam Freese) Culbertson, all of Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life and soul mate, Kathleen; and his father Donald.
