Frederick Charles Ernst of Louisville passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Fred was born on August 9, 1942.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward G. Ernst, Sr. and Lillian Ruth Ernst. Also preceding him in death was his brother, Edward G. Ernst, Jr., sisters Rita Gerth and Joann Givens.

Fred was a 1960 graduate of St. Xavier High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired in 2000 from Ford Kentucky Truck Plant with 30 years of service. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan and also a fan of the Chicago Cubs.

Fred is survived by his loving wife, Judith Thomas Ernst. They were married on September 14, 1968, sharing 53 wonderful years together. His five daughters, Angie Foster (Eric), Amy Ernst-Leonard (Greg), Debbi Hundley (the late Chris Hundley), Michelle Sims (Jason Rucker), and Melissa Childers (the late Jason Childers). Also left to cherish his memory are nine grandchildren; Judith "J.R." Maynard (Brett), Haley and Hannah Hundley, Savannah and Sarah Foster, Charlie and Max Childers, Jorja and Nate Sims. Also cherishing his memory is his great grandson, Easton Maynard. They all were his pride and joy.

Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2021.The funeral will be on Monday, November 15, 2021 at St. Louis Bertrand, 1104 South 6th Street at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
