It was later turned into the thirteen-part television miniseries, "Kingdom Hospital" (2004), which starred Bruce Davison, Diane Ladd, and Andrew McCarthy, by horror writer Stephen King. Born Jens Dyhr Okking in Copenhagen, Denmark, on December 18, 1939, he was also a talented singer, theatre director, and actor, not only on television but also in films and theatre in an acting career that spanned for over 40 years. His voice has also been used in several video games including, "Giften" (2001), and "Englen" (2002). As an accomplished singer, he performed with many talented Danish musicians. He also lent his voice to record several audiobooks for children, and radio plays for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation. In 1999, he entered politics and became a member of the European Parliament, where he served until 2003.
