Riccardo Toto, 81, of Lawrenceville, NJ passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at the Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, NJ.

Born in Pettoranellor, DiMolise, Italy, and a former resident of Canada and the Chambersburg section of Trenton, Riccardo was a Lawrenceville resident since 1978.

Riccardo enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his grandchildren's sporting events, talking about his Italian heritage and cooking. Riccardo was a very hard worker at a young age. While in Italy he enjoyed farming with his family. Riccardo loved to travel, in 1961 he traveled to Switzerland where he learned the skilled trade of becoming a chef in local restaurants.

In 1963, Riccardo immigrated to Canada to create a better life for his family. He maintained two jobs by using the skills he was taught in Switzerland to continue working in restaurants while additionally working in construction.

In 1973, Riccardo had the life changing opportunity to come to the United States where he immediately began working at his cousins restaurant. Shortly thereafter, he began working for Hill Refrigeration where he was a coil tester for over 24 years.
Predeceased by his parents, Giovanni and Venezia Ruberto Toto, and his sisters Evelina and Gilda Toto, he is survived by his wife, Elvira M. Rossi Toto; his sons, Enrico Toto, and his wife Alice, and Danny Toto, and his wife Erin; grandchildren, Riccardo, Amanda, and Teak Toto; brothers, Mike Toto and his wife Angelina, Silvio Toto, and his wife Clara, and Camillo Toto and his wife Christina,; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends in Canada and Italy.

The funeral will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 9 a.m., at the Brenna Funeral Home, Immordino Chapel, 1799 Klockner Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., at The Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.

Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Hamilton, NJ.

Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Brenna Funeral Home, Immordino Chapel.
