Alba Cifelli, 97, long-time resident of West Caldwell, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2021.

Alba was born in Castelpetroso, Italy. She emigrated to the United States in 1953. She worked throughout her adult life, culminating her career working as a lab technician at Hoffman-La Roche.

As a single mother, Alba centered her life on raising her children. The joys of a family centered life only increased with the birth of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alba was blessed to see her grandchildren grow to adulthood, dance at their weddings and celebrate the birth of their children. Some of her happiest times also were traveling with her siblings, especially her trips to Italy.

Alba was a very sociable woman who easily made friends. She was always ready to help not only her family but friends and neighbors when help was needed. Her religious faith was a driving force in her life. Her faith in God enabled her to overcome any hardships with optimism and hope.

Alba was a smart, strong and independent woman who lived a life based upon principles that should be emulated.

Devoted mother of Alfonse and Irene. Cherished grandmother of 6. Also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law, brother-in-law and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Alba is pre-deceased by her husband Giorgio Cifelli, her parents Giuseppe and Grazia Cifelli, and her siblings Esternia Cifelli, Emilia D'Uva and Alessio Cifelli.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Friday from 4-7 pm. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday at Holy Family Church in Florham Park at 9 am, followed by the entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum in North Arlington.
