Haskell Arrington, 62, a prominent citizen and former director of the Lawrence County Farm Bureau, passed away Friday in an Ashland, Kentucky hospital following an illness of five days. The deceased, born February 3, 1908, at Cordell, Kentucky, was a son of the late Simon and Lora Caudill Arrington. He was a member and a deacon in the Free Will Baptist Church at Cherokee, Kentucky. He was extensively engaged in livestock and farming and was active in community affairs. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday from the Cherokee Free Will Baptist Church with the Reverend Ralph Butler and Reverend Roger Johnson officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Louisa. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Loray Cordle Arrington; four daughters, Mrs. James Kiger of Washington Court House, Ohio, Mrs. Deloris Jones and Mrs. Michael Call of Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs. Huey McDavid of Grayson, Kentucky; a son, Haskell Arrington, Junior, of Webbville; six sisters, Mrs. Wayne Williams of Ceredo, Mrs. William Bryant of Sandusky, Ohio, Mrs. Homer Wells of Tipton, Georgia and Mrs. Henry Krasenski, Mrs. Louise Witherspoon and Mrs. Dean Wright, all of Columbus; three brothers, Fred A. and Ralph Arrington of Louisa and Walter Arrington of Columbus; and 10 grandchildren. The Young Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. The body was taken to the church one hour before services. (Big Sandy News, (Kentucky), September 10, 1970)
